A Team Effort

This online experience is the result of a collaboration between:

  • Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre in Canberra,
  • The Investigator Science and Technology Centre in Adelaide (You are now leaving the Burarra Gathering website), and the
  • Wurdeja, Ji-malawa and Yilan Aboriginal Communities of central north Arnhem Land, Australia.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support and assistance of the Burarra community and the Community Education Centre in Maningrida, and the enthusiasm and commitment of Linda Cooper and Peter Danaja.

The project team also wishes to thank Matthew Ward from Maningrida who provided some of the photos used as backgrounds for the stories.

All information presented in this exhibition is protected under an agreement between the science centres and the communities. The intellectual property remains with the custodians of the Burarra knowledge and culture.

The project team also acknowledges the interest and support of the Ngunnawal people of the Canberra region.

Technical production and site design was co-ordinated by MA@D Communication (You are now leaving the Burarra Gathering website). The adventure animation was by Eye Candy (You are now leaving the Burarra Gathering website) and Multimedia Art Design (You are now leaving the Burarra Gathering website) made the adventure's interactive components. All three companies are based in Canberra.
